The Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) Counselor and CPL Coordinator Training is a free statewide professional development event designed to equip both your college’s CPL counselors and CPL coordinators with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to effectively implement and support CPL across California Community Colleges.

Through keynote presentations, policy updates, technology demonstrations, and specialized concurrent sessions focused on counseling, veteran services, and program coordination, participants will strengthen their understanding of Title 5 regulations, military transcript evaluation, student support strategies, and institutional best practices. The training aims to foster collaboration, promote equitable student success, and advance California’s Vision 2030 goals by expanding access to Credit for Prior Learning opportunities for veterans, working adults, and other learners. This will be a hands on technical training led by the CPL Initiative while sessions will be facilitated and administered by your peers in the field.
